ESPRC History
ESPRC was established on the 5th of June 1991 based on the Universities Supreme Council's approval as an independent unit responsible mainly for teaching English language inside and outside Mansoura University.
ESPRC Mission:
The mission of the English for Specific Purposes Center (ESPRC) is to provide services to Mansoura University community of students, faculty and administrators and to extend the services outside the university for community purposes. The ESPRC strives for excellence in its educational endeavors, strengthening the link between theory, research and practice. We offer flexible and distinguished services in order to meet the changing needs. We are dedicated to providing an environment that promotes professional excellence.
Intensive Program Mission:
The central mission of intensive program is to provide high quality instruction in English as a second languag (ESL) to Clients who wish to improve their proficiency in English. In keeping with the mission of Mansoura University, we also conduct research into the nature of second language teaching and learning.
Clients:
We teach people of different ages whose purpose is to learn English for a variety of social, professional, academic and different reasons. We also help students in preparing for their careers. ESPRC will take students in a comprehensive e-learning program that will provide them with internet technology skills.
Programs and Services:
1- Teachers' training, testing, consulting services and cross-cultural training.
2- Providing materials in well-articulated curricula; we use methods informed by our practical experience, theoretical discussions, and research findings on second language learning and teaching, Preparing, supervising and evaluating the specific English language programs for both post and under graduate students at the different university faculties, institutions and units.
3- Providing University faculties and staff with resources and support.
4- Using e-learning program with the Internet technology skills.
ESPRC Website: The ESP website serves three primary purposes:
1- To inform ESP-students about ESPRC programs and courses and to provide some information about Mansoura University.
2- To build capacity for online discussion and communication, creating a new digital community; and
3- To share the accomplishments, workshops and models created by ESPRC with the rest of the community, students and with everyone.
